Day 3 – December 21, 2012 –
Friday
My roommate from Hong Kong accompanied me this day. I met my student's mom at the hostel reception and she gave me a box of Pineapple cake. We
were supposed to go to Beitou but my student's dad suggested that we go to
Wulai instead of Beitou. We also weren't able to see the Wulai Hot Springs
since we were very tired from walking to Wulai waterfalls and her feet were
still healing from her accident at the airport and mine had tons of blisters
from yesterday so we decided to just go straight to Shilin Night Market. I told my roommate that I want to try the street food and so we did. Men, Taiwanese loves food. We also went to Cicheng Temple which is inside the Shilin Market vicinity. There was an old lady there who asked us to pray with her. I don't know how to pray to Budha so I just keep following and copying what they were doing. It was so funny but a great experience. The lady was very kind. She even told the caretaker that we are tourist so he gave us a booklet that has the 2013 calendar.
